Wide Open Student Ministries - Hike and Picnic - Sunday May 4th at Sawnee Mountain Park - just up the street from the church. We'll meet at the church at 4:00 p.m. and return by 7:00 p.m. Please pack your dinner, bug spray and other items in a back pack and dress appropriately for a hike and picnic. Feel free to invite your family and friends to join us.

Teacher Appreciation Breakfast - Sunday, May 4th for all those individuals who teach Sunday School, Confirmation classes and Bible Studies for the children, youth and adults of this congregation. We greatly appreciate the time, talents and commitment these individuals give each and every week. Please take a moment to thank your teachers for all they do. We appreciate you!

Confirmation will be held on Pentecost Sunday, May 11, 2008. The Rite of Confirmation will be celebrated only at the 11:00 a.m. service. Because it is participatory for both parents and youth, we are having a rehearsal lunch on Sunday, May 4 at 12:15 p.m. This meeting is mandatory for both parents and youth. A meal will be provided, during which time we will discuss what it means to be a confirmed Christian in the Lutheran tradition. Confirmation Camp forms and money were due April 15. Kelly Edwards will be attending one last meeting prior to camp this week and MUST turn in everything at that time. Please contact Kelly if you have any questions.

Vacation Bible Schools just around the corner, and this year is going to be the most exciting, fun time yet! Our theme is RAINFOREST ADVENTURE: A Tree Top Bible Blast! So mark your calendars for JUNE 9-13 from 6-8 p.m., put on your PITH helmets and come join the fun. Cost is $10 if registered by May 1 - after May 1 is $15. Yard Sale, Please mark your calendars. The next yard sale will be on Friday and Saturday, September 25 and 26. This is a good time to start thinking about and organizing those items that you want to donate. You can reduce clutter, help Habitat for Humanity (who will receive the funds raised), provide goods at a very low price to the community, and help to make more people aware of Christ the King, Its a win, win, win, win!!!
