A Message from the Pastor
Dear Epiphany People of Christ the King,
We celebrate Epiphany on Sunday, January 6, 2008, when we as part of the Western Church celebrate the coming of the MAGI to adore Jesus, the Light of the World.
And so we too, with the MAGI, celebrate & worship & adore Jesus, gift of God, our Light for all time.
As you know, the Christ the King Call Team is in place & has met a few times to become a strong team. They are readying for receiving the names of pastoral candidates from the Synod Office. There is indeed excitement as all the people wonder where Christ the King will move in ministry, being drawn to the Light of the World, this Jesus, gift of God.
But we are assured and confident in God’s work in giving us Jesus Christ, prophet, teacher, rabbi, the new Adam, mediator, Son of God, Son of Man, and finally Emmanuel. Matthew 1:23 says,
This is indeed a special time for Christ the King. Whenever a new year rolls around I always reach out to the short Biblical Book of Ecclesiastes. In chapter 3 it says, “For everything there is a season, & a time for every matter under heaven:…a time to plant, & a time to pluck up what is planted;…a time to seek, and a time to lose;…a time to love…and a time for peace.”
I pray for each of you a Blessed New Year of our Lord 2008. I pray that 2008 will bring you and the people of the whole world great love and peace. Know that you are being lifted & loved, “…for the joy of the Lord is your strength.” Neh. 8.10.
