A Message from the Pastor
Greetings! Let me just begin by saying, I am so excited and honored to be your new associate pastor! Christ the King seems like a wonderful place to begin my ministry, and I can’t wait to get to know all of you! For my very first newsletter article, I’ve decided to tell you a little about myself so you can get to know me better.
I was born and raised in Minnesota. My father is a pastor and my mother is an elementary school paraprofessional. I am the oldest of four children; I have two brothers and a sister. My family loves to travel and go camping, and as a result, I have been to 49 of the United States and all Canadian provinces. My husband Justin is the associate pastor at Good Shepherd Lutheran Church in Woodstock, the town where we also live. We have a cat named Melanchthon, and she’s both very clumsy and lovable..
In the past month I have gotten married, graduated from Luther Seminary, packed up my things and moved down to Georgia, purchased a new car, started an amazing new job as associate pastor, attempted five (yes, five!) times to obtain a Georgia drivers license, been in two additional weddings, and, as of this week, became an aunt. Needless to say, it’s been a busy month!
So many big changes have happened to me in a short period of time, but they’ve been good changes, and I’m very excited to begin this new stage of my life as a pastor. I’m eager to work with the youth, as well as all other ages of people and areas of ministry. Perhaps most importantly, I look forward to preaching the Word and sharing in the Sacraments with the people of this parish.
May God bless us as we begin this journey together.
