Outreach

Outreach - in its continuing quest to serve the Congregation, has decided to purchase an Automatic External Defibulator (AED). This device would be used in the unfortunate event that someone at our church had a heart attack. Payment for the AED will come from Special Funds that have been contributed over the years and Supplemental Funds from Thrivent. Hopefully we will never have to use it, but if we do, we need folks trained to use it properly. To make this service most effective we need some information from you. We would appreciate anyone already trained in CPR and the use of an AED to call Lu Leeds at 770-887-1496 to let her know. We need to be sure all Services are covered with people who are trained and willing to help. After we determine those who are currently trained, we will offer training to anyone else who would like to serve.

Did You Know?

After providing for family and loved ones, members may want to put Christ the King in their wills, thus helping to assure the long-term future of our church. Bequests are free of estate tax and can substantially reduce the amount of your assets claimed by the government. You can give needed support for our church by simply including the following words in your will: “I give, devise, and bequeath to Christ the King Lutheran Church, Cumming, Georgia, Inc. (insert the amount being given here) to support the ministry of Christ the King.” A bequest can be a specific dollar amount, a specific piece of property, a percentage of an estate, or all or part of the residue of an estate. You can also name Christ the King as a contingency beneficiary in the event someone named in your will is no longer living. It is recommended that a lawyer help in drafting or amending a will. To obtain a copy of the Memorials, Bequests, and Other Gifts Policy, please contact the office.

Welcome Back

Lutheranch - Challenge Update

Challenge Update. Thank you to all who pledged gifts to The Challenge campaign. We received 71 pledges and gifts totaling $23,372. That comes close to our goal of $26,000. It’s not too late to pledge – just put it in the offering and hopefully Rich will shave his head soon! These gifts will help make Lutheranch a wonderful retreat center for spiritual renewal and growth, and help with improvements to Lutheridge and Lutherock.

Lutheridge was established 62 years ago! Lutherock came soon after. Now we have the opportunity to be a part of the beginning of Lutheranch. The Foundations For Faith - The Challenge is a campaign to fund this property in northwest Georgia. This will become a third camp and conference center to serve generations of youth and families across the Southeast. For more information visit our Ministry Spotlight page Lutheranch.
