Preschool - Registration Information

We are pleased your family is considering Christ the King Lutheran Preschool for your child’s preschool experience. We sincerely hope the information provided on these pages will answer many of your initial questions concerning our preschool. Christ the King Lutheran Preschool started in September of 2000. We currently enroll 156 students and have a staff of 28. Liz Lorendo will be in her fourth year as Director. A Board of Directors made up of church members governs Christ the King Lutheran Preschool with Mrs. Amy McCollum serving as the President. The Board sets preschool policies and procedures.

Registration Instructions

Our registration procedure is a “Ticket Master” type process as follows:

  • All registrations will take place in the church’s Fellowship Hall. Please park cars in the east lot (near the church entrance).
  • Registration will begin promptly at 9:30 a.m. for those currently enrolled and their siblings. We will begin at the end of the line and have parents randomly pick a number from a box. Only one number is needed per family. The parents will then line up according to their chosen number. If you are not present to draw a number at 9:30 a.m., you are encouraged to join the end of the line. You will have the opportunity to register your child after everyone else is finished.
  • After lining up according to the number drawn, you will be directed to the Class Selection Table. You will be asked which class you desire for your child. If a spot is available, you will be given the registration form for that class. Once you have received your registration form, you are in the class. If the class is already full, you may put your name on the waiting list and obtain the form for the class of your second choice.
  • Proceed to the Registration Form Tables to completely fill out the registration form and write your registration check. We will accept checks and money orders only. Checks should be made payable to Christ the King Lutheran Preschool. The registration fee is NON-REFUNDABLE. Registration forms will not be accepted without the non-refundable registration fee. This fee helps with the cost of supplies and with all other costs of your child’s preschool program.
  • Proceed to the Payment Table to submit your Registration Form and receive a receipt for your check. You will also receive information concerning future dates and payments (September tuition due June 1, October tuition due in September, November tuition due in October, etc.).

Important Information

  • Parents may register only their child or children. You may not register for two families.
  • September 2008 tuition for all students will be due by June 1, 2008. A reminder letter will be sent home in book bags or mailed in early May 2008. Anyone not paying September tuition by June 10, 2008 will forfeit their child’s spot in the program. September tuition is non-refundable as of June 30, 2008.
  • All students will be sent a letter in early August with information concerning Parent Open House, calendar information, and student Open House. Important forms will also be included in this packet and should be carefully completed and returned when you come for the Parent Meeting or Open House.
  • Registration fees include all money that is paid to the preschool for administrative, building, education, supplies, insurance, etc.
  • Tuition payments are due by the fifth day of each month, September 2008 through April 2009.

*Parents interested in knowing the class availability prior to public registration on Friday, January 25, 2008 may call the preschool office at 678-513-4338 after 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, January 22, 2008 to hear a recording of availability.

Waiting List

When a space is not available for your child, you are welcome to place his or her name on the appropriate age waiting list. Due to the transient nature of this area, the waiting list works quite well. You will be called as soon as a space is available and allowed 24 hours to notify us before we offer the space to someone else. If your phone number changes while you are waiting to hear from us, please make sure we are notified of your new phone number.

Names for the waiting list left on our voice mail will not be added to the waiting list until after all registration is complete. Remember to speak clearly and slowly, and leave your child’s name, a parent name, and a phone number.

Tours

Tours of the facilities will be available at 11:00 a.m. on January 9 and January 10. Tours will start promptly at 11:00 a.m. While you are welcome to bring your child with you to visit our school, this is a group tour and classes will be in session. You may benefit more from the tour if you can come without your child.
